The Tooth Ferry is a pediatric dental practice who are experts at setting young patients’ minds at ease. “It’s never easy going to the dentist,” says owner Dr. Megan Posthuma, “so we work really hard to make it as fun and comfortable as possible.” The husband and wife team thoroughly enjoy making the experience as great as it can be.
What wasn’t enjoyable of course, was the shutdown that forced dentists to close throughout the State. “We had just opened up, when the news came of the shutdown,” says Posthuma. “It was really hard to comprehend. We are open now and we are so lucky to have patients who have spread the word about our services and our availability.”
When their banker approached them about Columbia’s Pass It On Project, they were excited to participate. To say thanks, the team at Tooth Ferry are looking to pay it forward to a special patient and Columbia Bank is paying the bill. “We are passing it on by providing discounted services to the three-year-old daughter of a family who really needs the help,” says Posthuma. “She has significant dental needs, and with Columbia Bank’s help we are going to make sure she gets these services.”
