In a city known for great restaurants, Salare in Seattle, Washington is unique in that it blends the cuisines of Chef Edouardo Jordan’s professional training in Italian, French, and Caribbean food as well as his support for local farmers.

In an industry known for being hard-hit by the pandemic, Salare was also significantly impacted. “We were forced to close in March, and have had our doors closed for dine-in service since then,” says Chef Jordan. “However, we still wanted to help our community so we began to partner with local nonprofits to provide meals for those facing food insecurity.”

That’s why Columbia Bank knew Salare would be a perfect fit for the Pass It On Project. Chef Jordan and the staff at Salare can continue to give even more support with Columbia Bank helping to pick up the tab. “We’ve been providing free lunch kits to the Seattle Urban League and South King County Schools, but we want to help more kiddos,” he says. “With Columbia Bank’s financial support, we are increasing the number of food kits and making sure more and more children get a good meal.”
