Kids At Play Therapy is dedicated to bringing pediatric therapy service to children and families in the South Puget Sound. Their therapy services are tailored to meet the individual needs of children of all ages by focus on developing a child’s ability to participate in daily life activities and gain independence. Yet, despite such a critical mission, the adults at Kids at Play know how to have fun. “We never wear shoes in the office,” says owner Tanya O’Callaghan, “and we love wearing goofy socks to make our kids laugh!”

Of course, the pandemic has been no laughing matter and Kids at Play has had to scramble to continue to provide service. “We had to reduce our workforce and reconfigure therapies such as migrating to tele-therapy,” says O’Callaghan. “We’ve soldiered on, but it has been stressful for our staff, our patients and their families.”

That added stress is motivation for their community support efforts going forward. In partnership with Columbia Bank’s Pass It On Project, Kids at Play Therapy is providing reduced cost therapy sessions to some of their patients, as well as for the children of some of their staff, and Columbia Bank is picking up the bill. “Therapy has never been more important, and with Columbia Bank’s resources we are going to help patients get the support and encouragement they really need,” says O’Callaghan.
