If great Texas BBQ and more than 16 Northwest beers on tap sounds good to you, then making the trek up the hill to Hops on the Hill in Tumwater, Washington is definitely a must-do. “We pride ourselves on great food, great service, and some of the best microbrews around,” says owner Robert Kupec.

That winning combination was helping Kupec grow his business exponentially until COVID hit. “It seems like every time we reinvented the business, more problems would crop up,” he says. “We lost a lot of great employees and have really had to take a step back in our growth.”

Yet, many customers stayed loyal to Kupec and that’s what drove him to join in on Columbia Bank’s Pass It On Project. Focusing on his loyal customers, Hops on the Hill is providing free meals to his customers and Columbia Bank is paying the tab. “We are passing it on to our great customers who have continued to support us,” says Kupec. “I think pass it on means to be able to give to others what they have given to you, and with Columbia Bank’s help, we are doing that for the patrons who’ve kept us in business.”
