You could say that Electric Coffee House in Sumner, Washington is a coffee shop and restaurant with an even higher purpose. In additional to making outstanding coffee and food, they also donate some of their profits to help fund clean energy in developing countries.

Hit by a reduction in customers during the pandemic, Electric Coffee House has suffered along with many businesses in the Sumner area, but the rich community spirit still shone through. “Often times, our customers would give an extra-large tip or just give us some extra money to help us keep our doors open,” says owner Christine Chatha.

With the help of the Pass It On Project and Electric Coffee’s strong philosophy in giving back, they excited to be providing free drinks and food to first responders in town. With Columbia Bank picking up the check, Electric Coffee is making sure to refuel the men and women who are helping keep the community of Sumner safe and secure.
