If you travel the Interstate 5 corridor in Northern California and spy a Subway restaurant, it might just belong to the two families who own franchise, Delight Foods, known to passersby as Subway. Owners Steve and Rosie Ahrens and Farzad and Marikit Sabet have seen their business grow and grow over the decades. “We opened our first restaurant way back in 1988, says the Ahrens. “Sometimes it’s hard to believe that we now have 18 Subway franchises from Willows to Redding!”
For both the Ahrens and the Sabet’s, the communities and the customer they serve have meant everything to their success and they are great believers in the concept of paying it forward.
With their local ties to the community, Delight Foods, Inc., was a great candidate for Columbia Bank’s Pass It On Project. Excited to give back to their community, Delight Foods is giving gift cards to organizations that help others and Columbia Bank is paying the bill. “We were thrilled when Columbia Bank provided us with this wonderful gift to pass on to others,” says the Sabet’s. “Thanks to the bank, we are going to provide Subway gift cards to two organizations doing wonderful work in our community – the Shasta College Foundation and One Safe Place. Our hope is that this generous gift will multiply and help many, many people.”
