To say that Caxton Printers is a legacy in Caldwell, Idaho is a true understatement. As the oldest non-agriculture business in Caldwell, and one of the oldest businesses in the state, Caxton is more of an institution than just a business in town.

For six generations, the Gipson family has run Caxton’s, yet this year has been unlike any other. “The pandemic cut deeply into our business due to the reduction in in-class attendance at all the local schools,” says owner Scott Gipson. “We have seen a 30% drop-off in spending.”

Despite these setbacks, a business so deeply connected to the community was not going to sit back while others suffered. With the support of Columbia Bank’s Pass It on Project “We are passing it on to the Caldwell Family YMCA and providing much needed school supplies for families who have children that are unsupported after school,” says Gipson. “The YMCA has been instrumental in the revitalization of Caldwell, and with Columbia Bank paying the bill, we are going to do our part to make sure that continues.”
