Established in 2006, Bon Vino’s Bistro and Bakery has been providing the Yakima Valley with fine cuisine going on 15 years. From upscale American fare to delectable European pastries, you’re sure to find something to like at Roger Hazzard and Joreen Bruinsma establishment in Sunnyside, WA.

Though, like so many restaurants during the COVID-19 pandemic, the shutdowns have hit their bottom line hard. Record low sales days and cancellations of catering events meant cut hours for the bistro’s employees and less solid ground to stand on.

And yet, the spirit of giving hasn’t left Joreen despite difficult times across her industry and she jumped at the opportunity to join in on Columbia Bank’s Pass It On Project. Excited at the opportunity of giving back, Bon Vino’s Bistro and Bakery is providing meal deliveries for those in the community who have been on the frontlines of fighting the pandemic, or who are high-risk and unable to visit the bistro, and Columbia Bank is paying the bill. Meals, pastries, and lattes are all on the menu for those essential to the community – “Because honestly, we are all essential in one way or another,” Joreen said.
