While Bentley Feed Inc. of Molalla, Oregon certainly looks and sounds like a bustling retail animal feed and supply store, it’s actually a little more than that. “We are the third generation of Bentley’s to own the business,” says Ashley Bentley, “and we home-school our kids right in the store!”

You might say that the Bentley’s and the store are somewhat COVID-proof given what they do and how they are raising their children. “We are a grocery store for animals so we have been operating normally since the pandemic began,” says Bentley. “And our kids do not have to remote learn, because they are learning right alongside us.”

Others have not been as fortunate and that is a big reason why the Bentley’s are partnering with Columbia Bank’s Pass It On Project. Wanting to help a friend in need, Bentley Feed Inc. is providing free supplies to a customer in need and Columbia Bank is paying the bill. “We are passing it on to our long-time customer and dear friend,” she says. “We have been quite blessed in life and business, and helping bless others is what life – and the Pass It On program – is all about.”
