Starting out in a one-room shared space, A Bit of Heaven Massage and Spa started out with humble beginnings. However, through tenacity and hard work, owner Sherry Peck soon moved to Port Orchard and opened up a full spa. Additionally, she brought her mother along and now they provide a host of massage and spa services like bamboo massages, deep-tissue massages, and Warm Himalayan Salt Stone massages as a mother-daughter duo.

Unfortunately, the pandemic hit just as they were enlarging their facility. “We were in the process of growing and adding massage therapists, when we suddenly had to close for three and a half months,” says Peck. “It was an awful feeling, like we were abandoning our wonderful clients.”

Despite their own challenges, when Peck and A Bit of Heaven were invited to join Columbia Bank’s Pass It On Project they knew they could help out by providing the gift of massage to South Kitsap special education teachers with free sessions. “We know the teachers are struggling with stress from online teaching and we want to help them feel more comfortable and relaxed,” says Peck. “With Columbia Bank picking up the tab, we are providing just a bit of heaven to our local teachers.
